OUR LOVE STORY

How we met

It all began in the town of Carolina in Puerto Rico, where Angel and Mima grew up and graduated high school together as part of the Class of 1980.

Life led them down different paths. Angel raised two wonderful children: Angel Francisco and Laura. Mima raised three: Yaritza, Xarimarie, and Edwin Iván.

Thirty years later, during their high school reunion, fate brought them back together. Since that moment, they've been inseparable.

Their wedding will take place in the picturesque courtyard of the Venice Art Center, surrounded by Italian-inspired gardens, a stunning water fountain, and the welcoming charm of the Art Caffe. Guests will enjoy a vibrant celebration featuring Cuban–Puerto Rican cuisine and live music by the beloved group Combo Fusion.

The proposal

March 4th, 2025 is a date that will forever live in their hearts. While visiting the historic downtown of New Castle, Delaware, Angel had a quiet plan in motion. He invited Mima to step into a jewelry store, saying he wanted to look for a charm with her grandchild’s face.

Mima paused and asked, “Why are we going in there? Are you planning to make me cry?” Her voice was soft, her eyes already shining with emotion.

Angel wandered through the store, casually browsing, until they reached the engagement rings. That’s when Mima realized what was really happening.

The salesperson, sensing the significance of the moment, presented an extraordinary diamond ring. They explained its brilliant cut and radiant clarity, the way it sparkled with every movement. Angel asked, “Which one do you think represents our love?”

And Mima chose the ring. It was full of light, warmth, and meaning.

Angel proceeded to close the deal. The salesperson placed the ring into a small velvet box and handed it to them. Without hesitation, Angel opened the box right then and there and asked Mima to marry him.

She said yes, through tears, joy, and a heart overflowing with love
